Delayed again

Isaiah had his blood tested yesterday.  His counts were still too low to start round 5 of treatment so we are delayed yet another week.  The nurse assured me not to worry and attributed his low counts to bone marrow exhaustion.  After being hit with so many rounds of chemo, his body is just too tired.

Phase 5 delayed

Isaiah had blood work done on Wednesday and his ANC was not high enough for him to start phase 5 today.  We have been delayed one week.

I love my boys!!

We went to church on Sunday.  It was so nice to be back.  Isaiah loved his preschool class and was proud to tell me that "God made people".  Adam enjoyed nursery and as expected, did not miss me one bit.  He's such a social butterfly.  I love my boys!!

Chemo break

Isaiah finished phase 4 on September 26th.  Since then, Isaiah's counts had dropped very low.  He had a few days of feeling weak and was borderline needing a blood transfusion.  He quickly bounced back and has been feeling very well.  As of Thursday, his ANC counts went up to a safe level so we are excited to go to church for the first time since March.  What a wonderful blessing this Thanksgiving.

Phase 5 begins next week on the 10th.

Here are some recent pictures.

Chemo is on

Isaiah was able to start chemo on Thursday.  We were there all day (left at 6:30am, got home at 5:30pm).

Isaiah did very well and met a new friend.  I was happy to see him socializing.  He has been very shy around other children lately.  Annabelle is 6 months older than Isaiah and also has A.L.L.  She is 9 days ahead of Isaiah in her treatment schedule.  She was there to get a blood transfusion.  Isaiah is expected to feel very sick by the end of next week.  He may need a couple of blood transfusions as well.  Cytarabine is supposed to really tank the counts.

He had Cyclophosphamide yesterday and will take an oral tablet called Thioguanine until September 26th.

It will be busy until the end of the month.  We were at the hospital again today and will be there tomorrow and Sunday as well.  The same thing will repeat next week (Thursday to Sunday).

Delayed again

Isaiah's ANC counts are still too low so he never had chemo today.  We will have his blood checked again tomorrow and then hopefully start the second half of phase 4 on Thursday.  This is the longest he has gone without chemotherapy.  It has been a nice break.
